Inflammation and pain fighting ginger tea

Inflammation and pain fighting ginger tea

•

Fighting off the most nagging bug with a cough that won’t go away and the thing that’s helped most was my homemade ginger tea.

I was looking for it on my blog and surprised that I’ve never shared this with you, as it’s in one of my top ten fav remedies to make for colds, infections and high pain, fibromyalgia flareups, given ginger’s antibacterial and inflammation fighting properties.

It’s really easy to make and I always recommend making it fresh from ginger root, and not using store bought tea bags.

I grate a generous handful of ginger on the big side of the grater, add it to a pot of boiling water and let it bubble away for at least 10 minutes, ideally 20 minutes.

I strain and drink a cup a few times a day. It’s potent and usually helps to knock any mucus out of the system, and supports with pain management in the long term.

Sometimes I make a version of this tea with grated turmeric root, and black pepper added to the ginger root, with a splash of oat milk for a double dose of inflammation and pain fighting support.

Turmeric is a natural blood thinner so please consult with your doctor before using it and any other natural remedies.

Gentle hugs x
